An Update. Or, How I Spent My Summer (Blog) Vacation

Hey y'all. Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth. Things have been a-changing around these parts, and I was kinda torn as to whether I wanted to continue blogging. But life has settled down a bit now, and I've really been feeling the urge to write lately, so I'm going to give it another shot. Here's what I've been up to for the past few months:

1) I am officially a single woman again. We managed to divorce amicably, and while I don't expect we'll be BFFs, I have no hard feelings and wish him the best.

2) I moved out of my former house in the suburbs and into an apartment in Denver. I really like having my own space, and my commute is 15 minutes instead of an hour (or two, depending on the day). Glorious.

3) Upon becoming a single lady with a sweet bachelorette pad, I started dating. Jumping back into that scene has certainly been an adventure. I've met some great guys, some turds, and some truly nutty dudes. I'll delve more into that later, though.

4) I went to Alaska. I flew to Anchorage over Labor Day weekend to visit my old friend Val (or Mrs. Val, as I am wont to call her). Alaska was gorgeous, and I actually enjoyed spending time outdoors! We camped, sampled the vegetarian offerings, and went to the Alaska State Fair. Such a good time.

Me in the wilderness. Or, like, right next to the highway. But isn't it pretty?

5) I still feel like it's summer, even though Halloween is 1.5 weeks away. The high today was 77 degrees! And it'll be the 80s this weekend. I'm not saying global warming is a good thing, but if I can get away with wearing maxi dresses and sandals in mid-October, I don't 100% hate it.

I think that about brings you up to speed with recent goings-on in my life. I'm going to make an effort to post more consistently going forward, but also avoid posting meaningless bullshit out of obligation, so we'll see how that goes.
